Cheburashka

I was just on youtube trying to find the perfect birthday video clip to send to my uncle in Moscow.  I found a clip of a birthday song from one of my favorite Russian cartoons- Cheburashka!

This brings me memories of being really little and watching this on VHS.
Even if you don't understand the words...it's a really cute video. Enjoy!

Photoshoot with Vanessa

These are some photos from last week! I got to work with three awesome girls- Vanessa (model), Irem (photographer), and Julie (hair and makeup). We took all of the photos at my house. Vanessa is soooo pretty! She's super nice and smart, too. She's learning Chinese! Some people have it all....not fair!! :-(

Some new items in my Etsy shop...

The bedroom was so bright and sunny today, so I jumped on the opportunity to take some really nice sun splashed photos. That's the problem with Montreal....you look outside and it seems really beautiful, but then you go outside and it's -15 C. I can't wait for summer anymore!!!

Here are some pics from today....you can find the clothing in my Etsy shop.

Ohhh and I will have to post pictures from my fancy photoshoot with Vanessa soon!

I love trades!

Maybe it's the Russian communist in me, but I really love the idea of trading. I recently did a trade with the lovely Diana of A Touch of Vintage. I got this amaaaazing vintage scalloped front dress in exchange for something from my etsy shop. I can't get enough scalloped edged things in my life...

Check out her shop here.

Now, if only bartering could pay for this new Macbook...eeeep :-(

Supa swap :- )

Clothing swaps are a great way to switch up your wardrobe without impact on your wallet or the environment. I hosted one this Saturday and it was sooo much fun! Everyone scored some amazing threads.

Here are some tips for a successful clothing swap:

1. Make sure everyone brings at least 5 pieces. I specified that they have to be washed, cute, and wearable.

2. Invite 10-15 people who have a similar style. I think that's what made this one good...all of the girls who came are really into fashion and love vintage shopping, so there were tonssss of awesome things for everyone.

3. So it wasn't the most organized, but we did separate the tops, dresses, bottoms, belts, and shoes, making it a lot easier to look through things. Hanging the dresses on a clothing rack was also super helpful!

4. Take the leftovers to a charitable organization.

Here are some blurry pictures:

Shoesssss!

The giant pile of clothing....

This is when things got crazy and Amanda and Ksenia started making really funny outfits...

I think if I were to do it again next time, I'd bring out another rack to minimize the pile on the couch....but digging through piles is half the fun of clothing swaps.
